Yes! Companies dealing in Metals/metallurgy like Coal India,Tata, Aditya Birla group etc. always look for candidates with mining engineering. You would be handpicked if you will clear ISM Dhanbad. Salaries are very good. You may also have an option abroad after few years of experience.

Mining engineering is a niche engineering discipline that involves fundamentals of metallurgy and mining science and use of technology for extracting and processing minerals from a naturally occurring environment. A mining engineer manages all phases of mining operations – from exploration and discovery of the mineral resource, through feasibility study, mine design, development of plans, production and operations to mine closure. Hi Aman,
Probably you are trying to know about a branch which has the scariest name. 'Mining'. But keeping such preconceived notions apart, Mining Engineering is certainly a branch of uniqueness, immense scope and versatility. Mining is not about getting in the mines and digging out things. Huh! What job a laborer will do then? A Mining Engineer overlooks and manages a mine & builds machines. Is this still scary?.
And the last thing anyone realizes is mines are gold. Quiet literally and figuratively too. With one of the best packages around and huge scope, it has a future that is considered one of the fastest growing throughout the world
