The eligibility criteria for PhD course at MIT School of Food Technology is that candidate should have  Master’s Degree in Food Science / Food Technology with prerequisite of four years B.Tech./ Equivalent degree programme, with minimum of 70% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 10 – point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).ORThe candidates appearing for final year or final semester of their Post-Graduate Degree will also be eligible toappear for the admission process subject to the fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria in the final result thereof.ORCandidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with Research should have aminimum CGPA of 7.5/10.NET/JRF /GATE Qualifying students will be preferred.ORCandidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a Foreign Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognised or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. (A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and recommended for award of the degree, may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme in any Institution on a provisional basis even before the viva-voice or final defense)

The courses offered by MIT School of Food Technology include B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD at UG, PG, and Doctoral level. The specialsation include Food Technology. Moreover, the MTech course is offered in two specialisations which include Food Technology and Food Safety and Quality Management. The details are mentioned below:B.Tech Eligibility: Candidate should have passed Class 12  (Science) passed with a minimum of 50% (aggregate) from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or an Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English. Those who have not offered Mathematics or Biology shall have to complete bridge course as prescribed by MITADT University.M.Tech Eligibility: Candidate should have passed B.Tech in Food Science / Food Technology with a minimum of 60% aggreagte for Food and Technology specialisations and 50% aggregate for Food Safety and Quality Management specilaisation.
