Maharishi Markandeshwar University conducts its own entrance examination for admission to the nursing courses which include BSc in Nursing and GNM. Else, admission to all the other specialisations is entirely merit-based on marks secured in Class 12 examination in medical stream.

Candidates seeking admission to the nursing courses offered at MMU Solan which include BSc in Nursing and GNM are required to appear for the entrance test conducted by the University. Therefore, they cannot get direct admission to these specialisations while on another hand, admission to rest of the specialisations is based on marks secured by candidates in Class 12 examination in medical stream.

Maharishi Markandeshwar University follows the seat reservation policy. MMU Solan BSc seat reservation policy states that seats are distributed in the ratio of 25:75 for state quota and management quota candidates. Apart from that, 15% of the total seats are reserved for NRI candidates.

MMU Solan BSc college comparison is based on the tuition fees charged and the seat intake in comparison to CUHP. MMU Solan BSc fees ranges from INR 1.20 Lacs to INR 2.80 Lacs while the fees charged by Central University of Himachal Pradesh for the BSc programme is only INR 14,400.MMU Solan BSc seat intake is 290 while on another hand CUHP has only 33 seats for its BSc programme.
