Hello! According to my information both the colleges are good for history (hons) but Ramlal Anand College have upper hand in History (hons) in comparison to Deshbandhu college. The seats are more and also provide course in English. For more comparison visit https://www.shiksha.com/compare-deshbandhu-college-vs-ram-lal-anand-college-university-of-delhi-id-746449-51251.

In my point of view, the research part of archaeology will be better than history as you will enjoy the process of learning things instead of learning only the textbook knowledge you will get to know the practical implementations as well.

Hello Nibedita Biswas, for doing Ph.D. one needs to pass entrance exam or screening exam for Ph.D. prescribed by concerned University. Your marks at UG or PG level do not matter much. Some universities allow M.Phil candidates to take up Ph.D. without any entrance exam. You just need to seek advise from registrar of your intended university. Best wishes to you.
