It is upto you, which field attracts you the most and where your interest lies. MSW candidate is well suited for the roles such as Counselor, Trainer and many more which lead to organisation development. Journalism, on the other hand, makes you a reporter, correspondent, news anchor, camera person etc. If remuneration is your priority, I would suggest you to go into Journalism. If not, and social work is more important to you than pay scale, MSW should be your choice.

Some of the best sectors where social workers are in demand are in the medical field like public health workers, rehab centres dealing with substance abuse and mental health patients, child welfare, schools, community services, etc.
