M.A. in Vocal Music from Rabindra Bharati University requires its candidates to have completed M.A. or B.A,(Hons./Spl.) in Vocal Music or in any subject with special aptitude in Vocal Music from any UGC recognized University.
You should find out whether the course you have done in classical music is equivalent to a B.A. in vocal music, so that you can apply to the institute for this course. Regards.

The basic eligibility for pursuing the course is a 10+2 or equivalent qualification in any stream, completed from a recognised educational Board. Music should have been an elective subject at the 10+2 level of education. For those not having studied music as an elective subject, qualification of an audition/ aptitude test is an option.

Hello Avanti,
I can understand your situation. Since you are already in 12th and studying science, I would suggest you to first focus on studies and clear your 12th. Once you clear it, start searching for some good western music academies and earn a certification. It needs a lot of focus and efforts. Don't be in hurry as you have enough time to learn a lot. Give yourself enough training through part time trainer in your location or wherever possible. Don't leave your studies in mid.

To be eligible, you need to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate and must have music as one of the mandatory subjects. The aggregate of one language and three best elective subjects (music including) would be considered as best four subjects (BFS). Those who have learned music for a minimum of 3 years from a recognized institute.
