There are separate hostels for both boys bad girls.Girls- The hostels are well-equipped, accommodate over 310 students - Yuvika has a capacity for 259 and Yeshvika for 52 girls. Yes, the admissions are open.The National Institute of Engineering has been producing top-notch engineers and technologists since its inception in 1946. If you are dreaming of a successful career, NIE – one of the best engineering colleges in India, is the right place for you. 3 categories of admission are possible - through CET result, through ComedK result and finally management quota. Apart from this college also offers a scholarship upto 100% fee for the students whose ranks are below 2500.

There is nothing particular like the best course at NIE. They treat all courses as equal. All facilities empower your knowledge.But yes if you are asking in the perspective to the placement then IT sector obviously has more scope just like other colleges but also NIE is more famous for its Mechanical department also.  You have wider scope in artificial intelligence and machines learning also as there are 2 campuses of NIE. These courses which are newly introduce will give you a better scope in future.

For the young men and women who reside at NIE hostel,   the facilities and the support system that makes the hostel a place to call home.NIE places importance on study and safety. Continuous monitoring, biometric attendance, maintenance of in and out register – the hostels have strict rules and regulations in place to ensure the safety of students within campus.Previously the was not up to the mark but from 2018 they have altered the building you can call it as newly constructed because it looks like that.The fee structure range from INR 94000 to INR 98000 per person. The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), established in the year 1946, today stands 196th place among top engineering colleges in the country that include IITs and NITs as per National Institution Ranking Framework announced by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). The National Institute of Engineering, SJCE Mysore, and MIT Mysore are the best B.Tech colleges in Mysore. SJCE Mysore is one of the best Engineering colleges in Mysore for Computer Science.

The average package offered during NIE Mysore placements 2022 was INR 9 LPA. Earlier, the average package offered during NIE Mysore placements 2021 and 2020 stood at INR 8 LPA and INR 6.5 LPA.

From an open-air amphitheater for cultural events and celebrations, a fully-equipped gym facility, Wi-Fi access, a common lobby where students can read newspapers and magazines, a separate room for watching TV, washing machines on each floor, and hot water geysers with 24 hours water supply. As per the VTU procedure, the CGPA is calculated. There is a formula to calculate SGPA & CGPA. SGPA is each semester's GPA and CGPA is the cumulative GPA. To calculate CGPA you must have all your SGPA. SGPA= sum [ (course credits) X (Grade points)] for all courses with Letter grades, including F (in that semester)] / sum [ (course credits)] for all courses with letter grades, including F (until that semester)]
CGPA= average of all SGPA.

In my opinion, I suggest you try to attend the internals even though you miss some classes. It creates a huge impact on your final exam. You can miss one test out of 3 for each subject but this plan is not advised. They take the best 2 tests to make it up to 50 marks but if u fail to get 25 marks combined then they consider you as a fail and also you are not allowed to attempt the final exam of that semester. You get a 'W' grade for that and you have to wait till even the semester to take up the subject again.
