Candidates, to be eligible, must write GATE exam. However, for final selection, the institute conductes a college-level entrance and also conducts a Personal Interview round to shortlist students. In addition to this, candidates must have also completed their master's degree in Engineering/ Technology along with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with 60% aggregate. 

IIIT Nagpur offers BTech in six specialisations, namely Computer Science Engineering (Artificial lntelligence and Machine Learning), Computer Science Engineering (Data Science and Analytics), Computer Science Engineering (Human Computer lnteraction and Gaming Technology), Electronics and Communication Engineering (Internet of Things), Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

 BTech admisison to IIIT Nagpur is based on candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which candidates are allotted the seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. However, for the remaining vacant seats, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process. 

To be eligible for Indian Institute of Information Technology Nagpur’s BTech programme, a candidate needs to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and a minimum of 75 per cent aggregate. Additionally, those who are under the top 20 percentile of their board are also eligible to apply.

 During 2022 placements, 70 out of the 75 students got placed under CSE which is much better than the other Engineering branch. Other than this, IIITs including IIIT Nagpur are some of the most reputed Engineering institutions in the country. With respect to the cutoff, CSE had the most competitive closing cutoff for the year 2022. The average package offered to BTech students in 2022 stood at INR 12.04 LPA and the highest package stood at INR 40 LPA. By paying a total fee close to INR 9.4 Lakhs for 4 years (as per the official fee of 2022), candidates get an average package of INR 12.40 lakh per year after the course completion, which is considered to be a good ROI.
