As you have not mentioned which graduation programme you are going to apply, I will add both *MS or M.Engineering: There are 2 types of Master's degree programmes (a) MS by research work (b) MS by coursework. Coursework is more like training to get a job, it includes not much research experience. MS research work is more like getting yourself immersed in research and thesis. Here, your lab or research-oriented works are more than coursework basis studies. But with GATE score only one can apply for MS research work in both NUS and NTU and coursework programme needs no GATE or GRE score but if the no. of applicants are huge they will shortlist on the basis of GRE scores.
* Ph.D: There are no such divisions for Ph.D. But there are various types of programs in Ph.D like NTU-TUM and NTU Home University.

Admission criteria:
General requirements:
You must have completed at least 12 years of general education or will be taking High School national examinations in the year of application in order to be considered for admission. Submission of IELTS or TOEFL or SAT (previously known as SAT Reasoning Test or SAT 1) or Pearson Test of English Academic PTE Academic) or ACT with Writing or Ameson English scores are only compulsory for applicants with PRC Gao Kao qualification (i.e. applicants who will be taking Gao Kao in June 2018 and those who have already taken Gao Kao) or who do not take up English language in Junior and Senior High School or taken English language only as a 2nd language.
For IELTS TOEFL and PTE Academic, only scores obtained in the 2 years leading up to the application deadline will be considered. The validity period for SAT and ACT is 5 years. Minimum Subject Requirements
