The National Institute of Design (NID) Vijayawada accepts 75 students per year for its B.Des program. The B.Des programme is a four-year course offered in three specializations. The first two semesters are a Design Foundation Programme, followed by six semesters of study. Candidates must meet the requirements established by the institute to be considered for admission. Students who have passed 10+2 in any stream can apply for admission to the B.Des course at NID Vijayawada.

The National Institute of Design (NID) Vijayawada accepts NID DAT scores for admission to B.Des. The minimum cutoff for B.Des in 2023 was 50 marks for the General category. The cutoff for three B.Des specializations, including Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Textile and Apparel Design, was 62.2.  To be considered for admission, candidates must appear in both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. A merit list is created for each category based on the results of DAT Prelims. Candidates are then called for DAT Mains, which includes a studio test and interview.

The average fee for courses at the National Institute of Design (NID) Vijayawada is around INR 1,89,675 per year. However, specific courses like Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Textile & Apparel Design may have a fee of INR 7.51 lakhs.  The tuition fees for the M.Des programme for four semesters is INR 8, 54,000. For five semesters, the tuition fees is 10, 67,500.  In addition to tuition fees, candidates will also have to pay other fees like insurance fees, student activity fund, film club, and alumni fees.

The National Institute of Design (NID) Andhra Pradesh accepts scores from the National Entrance Test (NET) or Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The DAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for admission to all NIDs. The exam is a two-tier design entrance test that consists of a prelims exam and a Mains exam.  To be eligible for admission, you must:Have a 10+2 or equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 60%Have appeared for the NET or DAT conducted by NIDSubmit a portfolio of your design work
