The National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad's Bachelor of Design (BDes) study requires completion of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts). Candidates must be 20 years old or younger as of June 30 of the admission year, with a three-year relaxation for reserved category candidates. Candidates must also pass the two-stage NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which consists of preliminary and final exams that test design skills, creativity, and problem-solving ability. There is only one NID DAT entry exam held each year. DAT Prelims and DAT Mains are the two sub-exams for the exam. Based on their DAT Prelim results, candidates are selected for the DAT Mains exam. The DAT preliminary exam takes place in late December or early January. The NID DAT 2024 scores will be taken into account for determining admission to the B.Des and M.Des programmes that participating NIDs offer. 

It is difficult to put a specific number as to how many sample papes one needs to solve. But that being said, you must try at least 10 sample papers. Also, make sure that the sample papers covers the entire syllabus and are not repetitative.For instance, some sample papers may contain the same types of questions, though the language may be altered a bit. If you need to get the maximum out of the sample papers, their content needs to be different.Also, along with sample papers solve practice questions, typically given at the end of a chapter or book.
