The application form for NIELIT Ranchi is rolled out a few days before the start of an academic year. Students seeking admission must meet the eligibility criteria for the course of their choice and apply by filling the application form online. The application for this year began on 11th of September and closed on 13th September. Students were then expected to report at the institute on 15th September. NIELIT Patna and NIELIT Ranchi both offer certificate courses. The total courses offered at NIELIT Ranchi is 20 while the total number of certificate courses offered at NIELIT Patna is 29. NIELIT Ajmer offers 20 certificate courses. Students have an on-campus facility of labs and library. Students can go to the library to issue a book of their choice. The library is well-equipped with books of all subjects. The institute also has a hostel facility with round the clock security services. National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Ranchi is a unit of NIELIT institutions established by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. This center was established in 2014 and since then, it has been offering over 10 short-term and long-term courses in the field of Information Technology (IT) and Computer Applications. NIELIT Ranchi admission to long-term courses is through NIELIT entrance test. NIELIT Exam is conducted at the national level by the institute itself as the exam conducting body. The NIELIT exam is being held twice a year, probably in January and July.

Results for NIELIT Ranchi entrance exam are announced in the form of grades. The results of the NIELIT O/A/B/C levels are published on the official website. The marks and grades of the candidates are sent to the candidates and also to institutes conducting accredited courses, from where candidates have to appear for examinations. Students must visit the official website of NIELIT for checking their grades by entering their login credentials. As per the information on Shiksha website of both the colleges, there is no official data for NIELIT Ranchi placements. As for NIELIT Patna Shiksha placement statistics, 27% of the students placed by Information Technology sector during NIELIT Patna past year placements followed by other sectors. Along with this, 23% students were placed in the Engineering department, 18% in the education sector, 16% in the operations sector, and 16% in the sales sector. The list of courses offered at NIELIT Ranchi includes certificate courses. These courses range from 20 hours to 1 year in duration. NIELIT Ranchi admission to long-term courses is through NIELIT entrance test. Admission to the rest of the courses is based on a candidate's merit in the qualifying exam/degree. Application mode is completely online. Class 12 or one-year ITI certificate after Class 10 is the eligibility criteria for O Level courses.
