To be eligible for NIST Berhampur BTech admission, applicants must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45%. The minimum marks required in Class 12 in the case of candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories is 40%. Additionally, candidates must have studies Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in Class 12. Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subjects/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Entrepreneurship are optional subjects.

To be eligible to pursue the BSc programme offered at NIST Berhampur, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the stream of Science (PCB/PCM). They must have passed Class 12 under Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or from a recognised equivalent board/council. Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme under Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Technology Management specialisations must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class 12.

NIST MBA admission is provided to the applicants who have a valid exam score and are eligible as per the NIST MBA eligibility criteria. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree of a minimum of three-year duration, from any recognised university or institution. Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. The minimum marks required in case of reserved category candidates is 45%.
