According to NIRF rankings 2024, NIT Delhi is ranked #45 in the Engineering category whereas NIT Hamirpur is rank lies between #101-150 in the same rankings. Therefore, NIT Delhi has a much better NIRF ranking than NIT Hamirpur.NIRF Rankings take into account teaching resources at the institute, research infrastructure, outcomes after graduation, inclusivity and perception of the institution. Thus NIRF ranking can be a good indicator when comparing colleges. According to the 2024 rankings, NIT Delhi is doing better than NIT Hamirpur.

NIT Hamirpur JEE Mains Cutoff 2024 was released for Round 1. The Cutoff was released for different specialisations, across different categories. For the General AI category candidates, the most competitive course was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, with the closing Cutoff of 10724. The least competitive course for the same was BTech in Civil Engineering, with the Closing rank of 40730.
