Rastriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth is a government institute, previously known as National Sanskrit University, it is a central university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The institute is run by Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha Tirupati Society, which is an autonomous organization formed by the Government of India. Courses are available in Sahitya, Vyakarana, Advaita Vedanta, Dwaita Vedanta, Phalita Jyotisham, Purana Ithihasa, and Yoga Shastra.

RSV is a specialised university dedicated to the study of Sanskrit, while AUV is a comprehensive university with a wide range of academic programs.

The highest package offered at Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthana Delhi in 2017 was 1.5 Lacs per month. The lowest package was 25 thousand, and the average package was 50 thousand.  90% of students in this course were placed. Students in this course are selected for government jobs as Sanskrit teachers, and are also selected in the army.  The highest package offered at National Sanskrit University in 2023 was INR 9.60 LPA.

The Shiksha Shastri Entrance Test (SSET), an online computer-based test (CBT), will be used for admission to the program. To be considered for the program, all applicants must submit an online application. It will be necessary for all qualified applicants to participate in an online computer-based test (CBT). Admit cards for the SSET will be posted on the internet. The university website will host the information of the selected candidates once merit-lists for admission have been created.

Candidates are required to register on the official website of the university and fill the application form online. In the form, fill all the details asked, upload the required documents and pay the application fee. NSU will accept CUET-PG score for admission to the PG courses. For the same, students need to register for the exam, appear for it and qualify it. Qualified students of CUET-PG are required to register for NSU counselling after which merit lists will be released.
