In my view, you should go for marine engineering as till now competition in this field is less. This will help you to get job easily and salary depends on your hardwork.

Nautical science - It has the potential to deliver good careers.
Other than all the glittery and glory stuff mention along with it. Truth is it works only if you get your first break spot on eg. You get to complete cadetship without delay. For me to complete 18 months sea time it took 5 years. Recession+agents loots+company waiting period as no cargo and ship were sold.
All the stuff people say like package of 1020k USD, it's not true. You get it once you have experience of Masters for 10 years or more. Plus nor people get silver line careers like LNG/LPG.
