Career as a Merchant Navy could be in 2 fields mainly - Engineer or a Cadet. Other fields could be catering, junior offiecers, etc. Subjects Required :Only PCM students can apply. Entrance Exam
IMU- CET :Indian Maritime University conducts an entrance exam IMUCET for various courses such as B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Sc. Marine, B.Sc. Marine Catering, etc. You are also required to clear an interview and medical check-up. JEE T. S. Chanakya, Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, etc. Accepts JEE score. They are required to fill the forms for IMU as well. Colleges offering B.Sc. Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET). Please check for your eligibility to pursue this course form the criteria mentioned at the the link provided below:

You can apply to the course if you have completed your 10+2 or equivalent securing minimum 60% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) & 50% in English either in (10+2) or 10th standard. Also, you should not be more than 20 years as on 1st October of the admission year. You can register yourself for the admission through the institute's website http://www.himsar.net/admission.html
