According to Pay Scale, the average salary of an experienced naval architect is approximately 6,50,000 INR per annum. As with other professions, naval architects salary is influenced by many other factors like location, employer, etc.

Presently, the scope of Naval architecture is a little down due to oil crisis. Only a few colleges IIT Madras, IIT kharagpur, Cochin University) offer this subject as well as has better placements.

Some of the colleges are International Maritime Academy, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Aarnav Shipping Technological Research Sanstha, Mumbai University and Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering (SNGCE), Ernakulum.
