NDA test centres are allotted to candidates as per the preferences given by them in the application form. The exam centres are allotted to candidates on the first-cum-first-apply basis. Candidates should apply early in order to get the preferred test cities. The examination authority reserves the right to allot test cities to candidates.

Candidates are required to enter their preferences of test citiies while filling the application form. The test centres are allotted to candidates as per the preferences given by them. The list of exam locations has been made public by the UPSC, which administers the NDA Exam. Seventy cities around the nation are scheduled to host the exam. It is necessary for candidates to carefully choose the exam center. because candidates are unable to alter the exam location once they have been selected.The two distinct exam sessions, NDA 1 and 2, are held in separate months of the year. Cadets are admitted to the National Defense Academy twice a year, in January and July. As a result, UPSC offers the exam across two sessions. There are differences in the eligibility criteria for NDA 1 and 2, including the age limit.

Candidates need to carry the following documents to the NDA exam centre:
NDA Admit Card
Aadhaar Card (Original copy) or any other government photo-identity proog
Two Black Ball Point pen for marking your responses on the OMR sheet
Analogue wrist watch as UPSC do not allow one with a digital display
Two photos similar to that on the admit card.

UPSC releases the list of test cities along with the notification. Candidates are required to choose one test city as per their preferences while filling the application form. One test city can have multiple exam centres. The details regarding the NDA exam centres are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates need to appear for the exam at the allotted test centre or else their answer scripts are not evaluated. While appearing for the exam, candidates need to carry the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the allotted NDA exam centre.
