NDA Syllabus

UPSC administers the National Defence Academy (NDA) 2024 Exam which consists of two papers: the General Ability Test (GAT) and Mathematics The syllabus by subject is shown below1. 300 marks in mathematicsAlgebra: complex numbers, sets, progressions and quadratic equations.Trigonometry: applications, inverse functions and trigonometric ratios.Lines, circles, conic sections and three dimensional geometry are examples analytical geometry.Applications, limits continuity and derivatives in differential calculus.Differential equations and integral calculus.Operations and applications of vector algebra.Probability and statistics.2. The 600-mark General Ability Test (GAT)English (200 marks): writing abilities, vocabulary, grammar and understanding.General Knowledge: Physics: Thermodynamics optics and motion laws (400 marks).Chemistry: ordinary chemistry, elements and reactions.Biology: Ecosystems and human anatomy.History and Geography: physical geography Indian liberation movement.

The themes and subtopics that candidates must study for the exam are outlined in the NDA syllabus. Maths and GAT make up the two halves of the NDA course. The syllabus is written at the standards of Classes 10, 11, and 12. Applicants can review the subjects covered in the syllabus below: Calculus: Math Matrices, Determinants, and Calculus Differential Equations and Integral Calculus trigonometric functions Algebra Vector The analytical geometry of two and three dimensions, along with statistics and probability. GAT. There are two sections to the NDA GAT syllabus. English questions are found in Part A, and general knowledge questions are found in Part B. In the English portion, questions include vocabulary, coherence, comprehension, grammar and usage, and comprehension. Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events are the subjects covered in GK questions.

The National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy Course offer admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings through the NDA exam. To choose qualified applicants for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA), the CDS exam is administered. The syllabus for CDS and NDA differs. The NDA syllabus is divided into classes 10, 11, and 12. In contrast, the CDS syllabus adheres to graduation-level standards. Maths and GAT make up the two halves of the NDA course. The three sections of the CDS syllabus are General Awareness, English, and Elementary Maths. The NDA written exam carries a total of 900 marks.

NDA syllabus is prescribed by the examination authority. The syllabus comprises the topics that candidates need to prepare for the exam. The first and foremost step towards preparation is going through the syllabus. Knowing the syllabus helps candidates to plan a strategy to ace the exam, thereby, giving them the right direction for preparation. NDA syllabus has two sections for the written exam, General Ability Test (GAT) and Mathematics. GAT aims to test the candidate's basic knowledge of History, GK, Current Affairs of National and International Events, English, Science, and Geography. On the other hand, the Mathematics paper of NDA comprises questions based on Class 12. The GAT paper holds the maximum weightage in the syllabus.
