The National Defence Academy (NDA), located in Khadakwasla, Pune, is the premier joint training institute for the Indian Armed Forces, encompassing the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It offers a full-time, residential undergraduate programme that typically lasts for three years, culminating in degrees such as Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) for naval cadets. The NDA is recognised by Jawaharlal Nehru University and provides a rigorous academic curriculum alongside military training.To gain admission to the NDA, candidates must pass a written entrance exam followed by an Intelligence and Personality Test. The written exam consists of two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test. Eligibility typically requires candidates to have completed their 10+2 education with a minimum aggregate of 45%, along with qualifying scores in the entrance examination.The NDA also emphasizes physical training and outdoor skills, ensuring that cadets are well-prepared for their future roles in the armed forces. After completing their training at NDA, cadets proceed to their respective service academies for further specialised training before commissioning. Eligibility criteria for AFA and INA in NDAFirst we need to look at the educational qualifications mandated to get into the Air Force Academy and the Indian Naval Academy through the NDA examination to understand the eligibility with respect to these two institutes.For Entry into Air Force Academy (AFA): The candidates have to fulfill at least 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics.You have not completed your 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics but you have completed it with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) along with Mathematics as an additional subject. So you do not meet the eligibility criteria of AFA.Indian Naval Academy (INA): Similar to AFA, candidates applying for INA must have completed their 12th grade with Physics and Mathematics. Hence having PCB with an extra Mathematics subject does not fulfill this requirement.

The 600-mark General Ability Test (GAT)English (200 marks): writing abilities, vocabulary, grammar and understanding.General Knowledge: Physics: Thermodynamics optics and motion laws (400 marks).Chemistry: ordinary chemistry, elements and reactions.Biology: Ecosystems and human anatomy.History and Geography: physical geography Indian liberation movement.
