NEET Counselling

No, there will not be an OBC category reservation in Odisha NEET 2024 counselling. Such candidates will be considered as open category students for admission purposes. This means, such candidates must secure the NEET qualifying cutoff for the General or Open category candidates as stated by the National Testing Agency (NTA) during the NEET 2024 result declaration. The other eligibility criteria stated by Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling committee is also the same as that applicable for the General category candidates. OBC category candidates are not allowed to claim any special reservation during the seat allotment process. At the same time, such candidates need not furnish any specific documents pertaining to OBC category. 

Odisha NEET UG counselling 2024 for the academic year 2024-25 Stray Vacancy or Spot Counselling round has concluded on November 3, 2024. As many as 100 candidates have been admitted seats in this round, which is supposedly the last and final round. The counselling process had started on August 10, 2024. Odisha NEET 2024 counselling Round 3 was conducted from October 7 to October 30, 2024. The Round 2 provisional seat allotment result was declared on September 24, 2024, and the final result was declared on September 26, 2024. The institute reporting and admission fee payment procedure was conducted from September 28 to October 2, 2024.The registration process for the Round 2 of Odisha NEET 2024 counselling concluded on September 9, 2024. The provisional and final merit lists have been released on September 11 and September 13 respectively. The choice filling and locking rounds is being conducted from September 14 to September 23. The schedule for the Odisha NEET 2024 counselling for Round 2 and further rounds have been revised on account of the change in the seat matrix.The Odisha NEET 2024 counselling process for Round 1 was conducted from August 10 to September 3, 2024. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) has announced the dates for counselling. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) began the NEET UG counselling 2024 for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats from August 14, 2024. 

Odisha NEET UG counselling process is conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). OJEE conducts the counselling process for the undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. It is the state counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats of the Odisha state. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Even though OJEE is the counselling authority for Odisha NEET UG counselling, the process and rules are inclined as per the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Odisha NEET UG Counselling is done by a Committee consisting of OJEE Chairman, OJEE Vice-Chairman, OJEE Secretary OJEE, and three Members  (Additional Director of DMET Odisha, and two other Members).

The duration of NEET PG counselling depends on number of vacant seats after each round. Usually, the counselling process goes on for over two months time. Each round of NEET PG counselling takes around 15-20 days time starting from registration to reporting. Initial rounds takes a bit more time than last rounds. Candidates have to register online and declare choice for college and course for seat allotment. Registration can be done on the official website. A total of 4 rounds of counselling is held for seat allotment. Based on choice declared by candidates, available seats, NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc. seats are allotted to candidates.
