The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the complete schedule for NEET UG counselling 2024 on July 29, 2024. The process began on August 14, 2024. On September 13, 2024, MCC revised the NEET 2024 counselling dates for Round 2 onwards on account of the change in the seat matrix. The dates for NEET 2024 counselling for the first four rounds, namely, Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round have been announced, which concluded November 5, 2024. According to Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the authority for NEET counselling, certificates issued by the competent authority on standard format, should be in English or Hindi language. Some of the states insist for certificate in English language only. Candidates are advised to carry certified  (attested) Copy of English version of the original certificate, in case certificateissued is in other than English language, along with original certificate.

Candidates who have been allotted seats at the end of a round of NEET counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) need to bring their original certificates at the time of reporting. Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that "their original certificates are deposited with the Institute /College/University" will not be allowed to take admission in allotted Medical/Dental College. Yes, medical aspirants can participate in the state as well as the All India NEET counselling processes simultaneously. In general, the dates of state and the All India NEET counselling rounds will be different.Before participating in either of the NEET counselling processes, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria. For the State NEET counselling processes, candidates must belong to the domicile. NEET counselling or the NEET UG All India counselling and the NEET state counselling process are conducted for the admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other courses. The terms Clear Vacancy and Virtual Vacancy are related to the NEET seat matrix, which is released prior to each round of counselling. Clear Vacancy means empty or unclaimed seats at the end of the institute reporting process conducted at the end of each round. After the declaration of the seat allotment result, if a candidate exits the seat, then those seats come under the Clear Vacancy category. On the other hand, Virtual Vacancy refers to the seats which are considered to be available, if candidates allotted those seats opt for upgradation. NEET counselling seat matrix refers to the number of seats offered across the participating institutes for each course. The seat matrix is released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) before the commencement of the counselling process. The seat matrix is released in institute-wise categories for the types of institutes such as Deemed universities, or AIIMS & JIPMER, etc. For NEET 2023 counselling, the primary seat matrix released by MCC was of two categories, for Deemed Univeristy and AIQ seats.
