NEET Counselling

The Assam NEET UG counselling registration process is conducted in an online mode by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME Assam). To participate in the Assam NEET counselling process, candidates must fulfill the following eligiblity criteria:Candidates must have appeared and qualified for NEET 2024 examThey must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2024 Candidates must be permanent natives of AssamCandidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam in Science stream and in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50 per cent marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at Class 12 Science level for General Candidate (GE), 40 per cent for SC/ST candidates and 45 per cent for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE). The required mark for Physically Challenged candidate of SC/ST category is 40 per cent.In case a candidate is not a native of Assam, he/she has to apply through NRI quota in order to be eligible to participate in the Assam NEET UG counselling 2024.

There are two types of NEET counselling: state counselling and central, or national counselling. The Medical Counselling Committee, or MCC, is in charge of NEET central counselling. The MCC administers the NEET counselling procedure for admission to the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Conversely, for the 85% of state quota seats, NEET state counselling is carried out by State Authorities or the Education Department of individual states. The NEET counselling for MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing programmes is handled by MCC. The State Counselling Authorities, on the other hand, handle admissions for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and other related or medical degrees.

To apply for NEET Counselling 2023, MCC (Medical Council Committee) will oversee the counselling process for AIQ (All India Quota) in four rounds, which includes a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. The following steps need to be followed: Step 1: Visit the official MCC website.The Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for Undergraduate Medical Courses oversees the NEET counselling process. Aspirants need to know that the counselling process for NEET is conducted over four rounds namely: Round 1, Round 2, Mop up round and Stray Vacancy.There are two types of NEET UG merit lists for students. While the first one is 15% AIQ merit list, the second is the All India Rank (AIR) merit list. NEET UG counselling consists of 4 rounds including - Round 1, Round 2, Mop up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round.
