According to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the exam conducting authority, the NEET SS merit is generated on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate and application of the prescribed tie breaking criteria. Equating/scaling and normalisation process is not applied, even though the exam is conducted in multiple days and slots, and for multiple subject or course groups.

No, revision of the NEET SS cut off or qualifying percentile will not affect the rank obtained by the candidate in any way. However, in case the NEET SS cutoff is lowered, and more candidates qualify for the exam, then all those candidates will be eligible to participate for the NEET SS counselling process. Last year, additional rounds of NEET SS counselling were conducted since the cutoff was reduced later, to give equal scopes to the newly qualified candidates of the exam. However, their merit positions or the All India Ranks did not change.

Yes, you can download the NEET SS result/ scorecard even if you have not qualified for the examination. The scorecard will have the qualification status of the candidate printed on it. Candidates are advised to take multiple printouts of the NEET SS scorecard and preserve it till the admission process is concluded. In case a candidate fails to qualify for NEET SS, he or she can appear for the exam again next year.

No, NBE does not send the scorecard by post to any candidate. NEET SS result or scorecard and merit list have to be downloaded from the official website of NBE only. Candidates will have to visit the official website of NEET SS and login through their registration credentials and download the scorecard. The course-wise merit lists for NEET SS will be available on the website and is accessible for download for all. They will have to find their NEET SS Roll Number to check the merit position or All India Rank (AIR).
