No, direct admission is not possible at NIT Coimbatore. The eligibility criteria to apply for the undergraduate courses is Class 12 with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exams are TNEA and others. The eligibility criteria to apply for the postgraduate courses is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is TANCET MBA and CEETA. Apply as soon as the admissions are open as the seats are limited and the candidates applying for admission are many.

Yes, the degree offered by NIT Coimbatore is valid as the college is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), New Delhi, and UGC (University Grants Commission). The college is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
