Hello Miss Vidhi,
You can pursue UGC NET Examination. The only eligibility is that you have to have minimum 55% in your Masters from recognised Indian university irrespective of your age. Regards,

Hello, The UGC NET Exam is held every year and the NET Exam is mainly conducted in the month of June and December. If you have completed the Masters in Commerce or Arts, Humanities or Management with 55 % marks, you can prepare and appear for the UGC NET Exam. (For female and reserved candidates, the eligibility is 50% in the Master's degree). There is no age limit to appear for the UGC NET Exam but to clear the NET JRF Exam for availing the scholarship amount of INR 25000 per month, you need to be 30 years old (35 years for the female and candidates from the reserved categories). Hello Deepshi, Yes, you are eligible for the NET exam if you are in the final year of the M.Tech. According to your branch in Master's degree, the best option for you is CSIR NET Chemical Sciences. But to apply for the exam you have to score at least 55% aggregate marks in M.Tech. You will also fulfil the age criteria of the exam if you want to appear for JRF I. e. 28 years (maximum age limit). Hello Sareeka,
As per the official notification, candidates who are going to appear in UGC NET Examination must possess the post-graduation degree from the recognised university with minimum 55% marks. The marks will be calculated overall including the all the semester's marks. Previously CBSE was the conducting agency of the UGC NET exam. From December 2018 the National Testing Agency also known as NTA will conduct the exam twice a year. National Eligibility Test is to determine the eligibility criteria of the aspirants for lectureship and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship. The UGC NET July 2018 Exam was conducted for 84 different subjects by the Central Board of Secondary Education. No, you are not eligible for UGC NET. You have to complete your Master's degree first, then only you will be eligible to appear for NET.

UGC NET for Sciences and other subjects demands a Post-Graduation and an OG Diploma, which is not equivalent to Post Graduation / M.Tech or M.Sc. Degree is not accepted. You should pursue a PG Degree like M.Tech or M.Sc. And then apply for NET-UGC Test.

Hello Shashank,
Yes, you are eligible for CSIR NET, if you have completed post-graduation in mechanical engineering. According to your branch CSIR NET Physical Sciences is the best option. But, you should have passed it with minimum 55% aggregate marks, if you are from General/OBC or if you are from SC/ST/OBC then you will get 5% relaxation in aggregate marks. To appear for JRF you have to follow age criteria also I. e. the maximum age limit is 28 years. For assistant this age criteria is not applicable. You can apply whenever you want.
