NET (National Eligibility Test) is an entrance exam through which candidates are awarded for Junior Research Fellowship and selected for the post of Assistant Professor. The National Eligibility Test was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education till UGC NET July 2018 Exam but from 2019 onward, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NET Exam. Yes, you are eligible for UGC NET exam if you have done post-graduation in comparative literature. But make sure you can fulfill other requirements of the exam eligibility. If you belong to General category then you should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters or 50% aggregate marks if you are from SC/ST/PwD/OBC category. You have to fulfill age criteria also I. e. your age must not more than 30 years (for General Male candidates). SC/ST/PwD/OBC/Women candidates get 5 year's age relaxation.

or, any Equivalent Degree and the final year students can also apply for it. The Age limit for Candidates is 28 years. Age Relaxation is possible for the SC/ST/OBC/ Female/PWD Students.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Master's degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science and Applications, etc.). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50%. Candidates who are appearing or awaiting results for their final year examination of Masters degree are also eligible to appear for UGC NET 2018.
