Hello,
If you did not completed your post-graduation and are in the last year, then you can apply for the UGC NET exam in result awaited category. The minimum eligibility for the UGC NET exam is Master's degree from the recognized university with 55% marks. You can select the subject you have studied in M.Sc. This subject must be included in the list of subjects given in UGC website. As microbiology is included under the list for CSIR NET you can take the test in the same stream. Please check for detailed eligibility to appear for the NET exam as mentioned at the link provided below:

Hello Rahul,
Yes, you are eligible for the APSET/ NET Exam.
The SET and NET exam are conducted to determine the eligibility for assistant professor and junior research fellowship award. The SET is state level while the NET is the national level exam.
Candidates after clearing the NET/ SET exam can be eligible to apply for any institute or university as assistant professor posts and appear for research and development in relevant laboratories.
The educational qualification for the NET /SET exam is post-graduation degree from the recognised university with minimum 55% marks.

A postgraduate Diploma is not equal to the postgraduate degree. Both are the different and post graduate Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the UGC NET exam.
For the UGC NET exam, you must have the minimum qualification of the master degree with at least of 55% marks in his or her master degree.
So, if you have done master degree in any stream with at least of 55% marks, then only you are eligible to apply for the same.
