Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Master's degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc.). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfil UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. Candidates who are appearing or awaiting results for their final year examination of Master's degree are also eligible to appear for UGC NET 2018. Please check for your eligibility to appear for the UGC NET exam from the criteria mentioned below:

This is a grey area and I will advise you to contact UGC directly. As per news and updates, if a candidate has registered before 2009 there is no need to take the NET but there is no update on how far this has been implemented. The requirements also depend on your area of research, university recognition in India and so on. You may also contact some universities and create a personal rapport to understand the requirements and flexibility. Unfortunately, nothing much can be advised now. You may go through these which are just proposals.

UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) Exam is organised by Central Board of Secondary Education. Recently the Board has announced the notification for conducting NET 2018 Exam. Check the latest notification from here - https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam must check.
Candidates who will appear in UGC NET Exam for English subject can prepare from following books

1. Paper - I is General Paper for all includes Teaching & Research Aptitude and is a common exam which consists of a total of 100 marks with 50 questions.
2. Paper II on Geography consists of 100 Marks with 50 questions.
3. Paper III of Geography consists 150 marks with 75 questions. Prepare a timetable and divide each topic. You can follow UPKAR's or GK publisher's or any good publisher's books to prepare for the NET exam. You can prepare yourself for the CBSE UGC NET exam if you have basic knowledge on your subject and you are confident enough to study and practice for at least 4-5 months without any distraction.

As per the UGC NET eligibility criteria, the candidate who is in the final year of Post-Graduation or have passed his post-graduation with 55% marks (For General & OBC) or 50% (For ST/SC/PWD) marks from a government recognized institute are eligible to appear for the exam.
The official website of CBSE UGC NET exam will begin the online application submission from 5th March 2018.

The candidates must have post graduation degree with 55% marks from recognised university. There is no age limit for the assistant professor post. You are eligible if you fulfill the above-mentioned criteria. For more information, you can check the official notification.
