Hello Sandhyarani Yadav,
Yes, an engineering graduate as well as post graduate student can appear for the NET examination that is now being conducted by NTA on behalf of UGC. There are of course other criteria like minimum marks scored in the graduation or the post graduation level as well as the age of the candidates. Hello, UGC NET is an exam through which candidates are selected for the post of Assistant Professor and for Junior Research Fellowship. To appear in this exam it is essential to have a Master's degree. Candidates appearing in the final semester of post-graduation can also appear in UGC NET Exam. So, if you are in the final year of MBA then you can apply for the UGC NET Exam. Make sure you also meet with the required eligibility criteria to appear in NET like age norms and others.

Candidates who pursued Masters in Chemistry are eligible to appear in CSIR NET exam or the post of Assistant Professor. You should also check this:
M.Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS with at
least 55% marks for General (your) and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with
Disability (PWD) candidates.
