Hello Ramesh,
As you say you have done Masters in fine arts with painting, you can appear for UGC NET exam in a visual arts subject. But before applying, make sure that you fulfil all the requirements of UGC NET exam.
According to the UGC NET Eligibility, you should have at least 55% aggregate marks in Masters if you belong to the general category or if you are from OBC/SC/ST/PwD category then you should have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. For JRF, your age must not more than 30 years. 5 years' relaxation is available for OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates. For assistant professor, there is no upper age limit.

As you have completed your Masters in Organic Chemistry, I will suggest you to go with CSIR NET Chemical Science subject. The basic objective is to determine eligibility for college & university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education holds National Eligibility Test NET for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor

Hi Arjit,
Here is the age criteria for NET:
Candidate's age for Junior Research Fellowship should not exceed 30 years as on 01.01.2018
Woman candidate and reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) candidates will be provided with relaxation up to 5 years. Those who possess L. M. Degree will get three years relaxation in age. There is no age limit for appearing in the UGC NET Exam in case of Assistant Professor.

The NET exam is conducted for the determination of the applicants for the university level assistant professor and junior research professor. The eligibility for the NET exam is post graduation from the recognised university with 55% marks. The age of the candidates must be below 30 years for the JRF while there is no age limit for the assistant professor. Check the complete details from the official websites and apply for the exam ASAP. All the best for the future ahead.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC.

Hello, You are perfectly eligible for the UGC NET Exam if you have completed the Post graduation with 55 % marks. For Female and Reserved category students the criteria is 50% marks in post-graduation. Start your preparations for the UGC NET Exam from now.
The NET Exam would be conducted in the month of July the Exam is on 8th July 2018.
The NET Exam is mainly conducted in the month of June and December but this year it is conducted in the month of July. To prepare for the NET Exam you can take help from the given compilation so that you can prepare for the exam.
