There is nothing called direct admission in NSIT. You need to give the JEE mains exam and the boards exams. Your rank calculated on the basis of marks in both exams decides if you can be admitted or not.

Being better depends on what you are looking for. DTU being older than NSIT is said to be better for core branches like electrical, mechanical etc. I personally have no experience of the DTU dept. If you are looking for pursuing research then here in NSIT, we have Mr. Dhananjay Gadre (prof in ECE dept) who is very enthusiastic about his subjects and provides great opportunities to students interested in projects and research. He has developed a lab which is equipped with the latest technologies like a 3D printer among others. Sir, first and foremost, consider your daughter's interest. Secondly, NSIT is a better tag than IGDTUW. Technical placements for ICE branch are less compared to non-technical placement. But, if that doesn't matter for you then you have nothing to worry. ECE at IGDTUW is fairly good but its CSE and Mechanical are much better. At the end, I would say you to keep NSIT above IGDTUW.

Depends purely on which category you belong to.General category people have to suffer a lot inspite of being far more meritorious than their counterparts belonging to the reserved category, and that is really sad. In case you are a general category student, you need to score around 95% in boards and a bit higher in mains to get admission in any branch of NSIT.

The cutoffs for ST category go upto 84,000 for delhiites and about 32k for outside delhi students. So if you are a delhiite you may comfortably get admission in NSIT even if you score about 90% in boards and say, a 100 in JEE mains. Or maybe you can get admission at a score below that too
