According to a top-ranking publisher NYU ranks at #30 in the National Universities category in 2025 in the U.S. In 2024, this university ranked at #30. This shows that the university's position improved in the US specific rankings in the year 2025. As per the Times Higher Education rankings for 2025, NYU ranks at #19 position in the U.S. for 2025.

According to a top-ranking publisher, New York University ranking is #43 in 2025 and #38 in 2024. As per another ranking publisher, Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, NYU ranks at #33 in 2025 and in 2024, it ranks at #27. In the world ranking, NYU's position has declined a bit. But, still the university has managed to stop in the Top 50 Universities Worldwide.

Yes, it is mandatory for students to live on campus for the first year. On-Campus housing is available to the students at TYC Tisch School of Arts. Living on campus is the cornerstone of their NYU experience, which offers the immersion into NYC's vibrant community and fosters a deep sense of autonomy.The students can opt to live on-campus which is a convenient option, but it might be a little expensive.
