NID Entrance Exam Counselling

Requests for rechecking the answer booklet of the that Prelims has to be submitted online at admissions. Nid. Edu. Rechecking is restricted to whether all the answers have been marked, and whether there has been any mistake in the totaling of marks for each question in Part II of answer booklet and transferring the marks correctly onto the first cover page of the answer booklet. No other re-evaluation of the answer script or other work done by the candidate as a part of the examination will be carried out. To recheck window will open soon after the that Prelims results are announced. Note that the candidate will have to pay a certain fee to submit a request.

The NID DAT exam analysis will cover the following points:Sectional difficulty - The difficulty level will be evaluated on a scale of easy, moderate, and difficult.Overall difficulty - The overall difficulty will be calculated by considering the sectional difficulty. The previous years difficulty level will also taken into context.The weightage of questions - The part of the analysis will examine the distribution of questions (or weightage) across various topics.Good attempts - This will be an indication of how many questions you need to attempt to be in contention for a seat.Expected cut-off - The candidate needs to meet the cut-off criteria to get admission.

Total seats offered in B. Des courses at all the NID campuses is 425 seats. For M.Des course, NID seats on offer for admission are 347. The B. Des programme is offered at five institutes - NID Ahmedabad, NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Haryana, NID Madhya Pradesh, and NID Assam. The various faculty members under which the programme is available include Faculty of Communication Design, Faculty of Industrial Design, and Faculty of Textile, Apparel, Lifestyle, and Accessory Design. Meanwhile, the M.Des course is available at NID Ahmedabad, NID Bengaluru, and NID Gandhinagar. Admission to both the B. Des and M.Des courses will be through the NID DAT entrance exam.

The recheck window for DAT Mains results will be open soon from May 21 (4 pm) to May 22 (4 pm), 2024. Note that the results of DAT Mains will be announced on May 21, 2024. Candidates who have any objections against the DAT Mains results can submit request requests through the admission portal of NID - admissions.nid.edu. To submit their requests, the candidate will have to log-in to the portal using their candidate log-in credentials. The admission committed will go through the feedback given by candidates and may make adjustments to the rankings for affected candidates. Note that admission to the B. Des course at NID will be as per the modified merit lists.

There could be various reasons for the cancellation of candidature at the time of NID that counselling. Some of the common reasons are:
Incomplete Application: If the application form submitted by the candidate is incomplete or contains incorrect information, the candidature may be cancelled. Non-Payment of Fees: If the candidate fails to pay the required fees within the stipulated time, the candidature may be cancelled. Non-Availability for Counselling: If the candidate fails to appear for the counselling session or fails to produce the required documents at the time of counselling, the candidature may be cancelled. Invalid Qualifications: If the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria specified by NID, or if the candidate's qualifications are found to be invalid or forged, the candidature may be cancelled. Violation of Rules: If the candidate is found to have violated any of the rules or regulations of the institute, the candidature may be cancelled. Duplicate Application: If the candidate submits multiple applications for the same course, the candidature may be cancelled. It is important for candidates to carefully read and follow the instructions provided by NID and ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam to avoid the cancellation of their candidature during counselling.

Some of the topics that aspirants should study as part of NID syllabus for that Prelims include Colour Terminology, Design Development, Mood, Theme & Colour Inter-relationship, Design Theory, Elements & Principles Of Design, Theme Development, Visual Logic, Memory Drawing, Exercises on Imagination, etc. Candidates who qualify that Prelims has to next appear in that Mains. The that Mains includes a Studio Test for the B. Des programme. The paper may include questions like Doodling, Material Manipulation, Audio Visual Exercise, How to Evolve Ideas, etc. The candidate needs to prepare for the NID that exam as per the updated syllabus. It is recommended that along with the syllabus, the candidate also consults the exam pattern to prepare for NID that exam.

Yes. In case, you are not satisfied with the allocated seat or have a better option available, you are allowed to participate in the other rounds of counselling. In case the candidate wants to participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling, then he or she has to opt for auto upgrade. Note that if the candidate is allocated a higher preference seat in the subsequent round, then seat allocation of the previous round will be cancelled. The allotment of seats will be as per the merit rank of the candidate in NID that 2023. The National Institute of Design will release the detailed instructions for counseling at the time of declaration of NID that 2023 results.

The National Institute of Design will release schedule for NID DAT 2025 counseling on its admission portal soon after DAT Mains results are declared.Eligible candidates seeking admission to the B.Des program has to submit campus preferences.The 1st round of seat allotment for B.Des program will be announed around the last week of May 2025. Note that the seat allotment for the M.Des program will be announced in April 2025.The counseling process will be conducted online and include one or more seat allotment rounds.NID counseling notification will include information like the mode of the counseling, application process, fees, etc. The candidate needs to carefully go through the notification to learn about the process. The NID counseling will be conducted for admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses. For the current session, there ate 425 B. Des seats, and 247 M.Des seats.
