The National Institute of Design conducted the DAT Mains exam separately for the B. Des and M.Des programs. The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des program was conducted on April 30, 2023. Meanwhile, DAT Mains for the M.Des program was held from March 20 onward. The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des program comprises a Studio Test that was conducted in a center-based mode. Aadhaar is one of the valid photo id proofs that candidates can produce as identity proof. But exam officials will also accept other government ids like Driving License, Passport, etc. The list of acceptable ids will be mentioned on the NID DAT 2023 admit card. The security personal at the NID DAT exam center will verify the documents before allowing the candidate entry inside the exam center. Any candidate who fails to produce the admit card and id proof will not be allowed to take the that Mains exam.

The final results of NID DAT is prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.In case of the B.Des program, the DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage. Meanwhile for the M.Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 30% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 70% weightage. Note that DAT Mains for M.Des contains to sub-components - Studio Test and Interview.Candidates who qualify DAT Prelims has to mandatorily appear in the DAT Mains. Or else, the candidate is not considered for admission.

NID cutoff is the minimum marks that aspirants need to secure in order to get admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses offered at NID campuses. The cut-off would be released at the time of seat allotment. Candidates who meet NID DAT 2025 cut-off in their respective categories will get admission. To determine the cut-off, factors like seat intake, no. of applications, merit ranks of applicants, etc. will be considered. Note that the admission cutoff is not the same as the DAT Prelims cut-off, which is simply used to shortlist candidates for DAT Mains.

The NID DAT 2025 results (Mains) for the B. Des program will announced on May 16, 2025.The final result will be prepared by giving weightage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The direct link to check the results will be provided here.Note that the candidate was also given the opportunity to apply for re-check of their results.Candidates who are included in the final merit list of NID DAT 2025 will be considered for admission to B. Des/ M.Des courses. The allotment of seats will be as per the merit rank of the candidate in NID DAT 2025.

The participating institutes of NID that 2023 offers B. Des and M.Des courses. The B. Des programme is available at five participating NIDs and has an intake capacity of 425 seats. Meanwhile, the M.Des programme is three NIDs and has a combined intake of 347 seats. Admission to both B. Des and M.Des courses will be through the NID that 2023 entrance exam. The seat allotment to the above courses wlll be based on respective merit lists which will be prepared considering weighted scores of that Prelims and that Mains.

Yes, the NID result is declared online on the official website of the design entrance exam. Aspirants need to visit NID admission page, click on the result link and log-in using their email id and date of birth. Note that the National Institute of Design will not send hard copies of the NID that scorecard to the candidate. The NID that scorecard for prelims will include details like Part I, Part II, and total scores secured by the candidate in the exam. Meanwhile, the scorecard for that Mains will also include the NID that 2023 merit rank of the candidate.

Aspirants can secure admission to B. Des and M.Des courses offered at NID campuses on the basis of NID DAT 2025 merit rank. Note that merit ranks will be issued to the candidate only if he or she appears in both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. The candidate has to first appear in DAT Prelims. Shortlisted candidates have to next appear in DAT Mains.
