The application process for the exam commenced on September 25, 2017, and NID that (Prelims) is scheduled to be held on January 7, 2018. NID application process usually commences in October/November each year. Aspirants can fill NID application form online on the official website of National Institute of Design (NID).

You will have to appear for entrance exams conducted by both NID and NIFT separately. Only after you pass the exam, you are allowed to take admission the institutes.

There is no minimum percentage required in HSC for getting admission in NID. For this, you have to appear in that (Design Aptitude Test).
You don't need to appear in JEE exam, as it is only for Engineering and Architecture aspirants.

NID Entrance Exam 2018 dates have not been declared yet. However, the application process for the exam is expected to commence in November and the entrance exam is likely to be held in January 2018

NID entrance exam basically seeks to assess your traits such as creativity, perception, abstract thinking, spacial ability, and the basic level of GK. All of which are essential ingredients for pursuing this program.

For (Design Aptitude Test), there isn't much that you can do. Firstly, and most importantly, you should have an aptitude for design. NID papers are designed in such a way that only those who have a creative side will be able to clear it. The question paper is a mix of creativity, logical thinking and general knowledge. You need to be aware of the latest happenings in the world. Cramming up yearbooks won't help you, seriously. Instead make a habit of reading the newspaper every day.
