The National Institute of Fashion Technology offers M.Des MFM and M.FTech courses at its 18 campuses. Admission to these courses are on the basis of NIFT 2025 merit ranks. The final merit rank of NIFT 2025 for the M.Des programme will be prepared by giving weightage to CAT (40%), CAT (30%), and Interview (30%). In case of the M.FTech and MFM courses, the GAT carries 70% weightage, while the Interview carries 30% weightage. Note that MFM and M.FTech candidates don't need to take the CAT Test.

In case of the B. Des and B.FTech programmes, the candidates should be less than 24 years as on July 1, 2023. There is relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. However, there is no age limit for applying to the postgraduate programmes at NIFT. When applying for admission to design courses at the NIFTs, the candidate must also carefully go through the academic requirements. Note that even if a candidate qualifies the NIFT Entrance Exam but doesn't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, he or she will not be considered for admission.

The eligibility criteria may differ depending on the course opted by the candidate. For instance, candidates seeking admission to the B. Des course needs to have passed 10+2 exam from a recognised institute and should be less than 24 hours as of August 1, 2023. Relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit applies for candidates belonging to Sc, ST and PwD candidates.

A: The final results of NIFT 2023 were declared on April 28, 2023. Candidates can check their results following the download link given on this page. The final results were prepared considering the performance of the candidate in GAT CAT and Situation Test/ Personal Interview. Consequently, the final results are released only for such candidates who appeared in both the written exam and Situation Test/Personal Interview.

Bachelor of Fashion Technology B.FTech from NIFT can be the good option. The course introduces students to the fundamentals governing aesthetic and design elements and the fundamentals of management. It imparts extensive knowledge of raw materials including fabrics and trims and of machineries involved in the manufacturing of apparels.

National Institute of Fashion Technology Eligibility Criteria for Bachelors in Fashion Technology:
A Student must have a passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects with Physics and Mathematics. Or 3 or a 4-year Diploma in any branch of Engineering recognised by All India Council for Technical Education or a State Board of Technical Education.
