Along with sample papers, mock tests are considered essential tools to prepare for the NIFT 2024 exam. However, considering the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests for the NIFT 2024 exam, the candidate may conduct mock tests of other exams. The NIFT admission committee may take student queries in case the NIFT exam is conducted as a remote-proctored exam. In this case, special hotlines may be created to help the candidate get their system in place. But note that as of now, there is no notification yet whether the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct mock tests or not. The institute will release the relevant notification, if needed, on its official website, once the admission process gets underway. In the NIFT 2022 exam, when the exam was held in a remote-proctored mode, candidate were allowed to ask queries during the mock test.

The mock tests will include representational questions, or questions similar to the ones asked in the entrance exam. So, by taking the mock tests the candidate will get to know about the types of questions asked, marking scheme, weighate, etc. Another important benefit the candidate can draw by solving sample paper is understand the question paper layout. Mock tests are not meant to be alternative to holistic exam preparation for NIFT 2024. This means the candidate must first go through the text books, learn the concepts, solve the problem Sets given at the end of each chapter or from problem booklets, and take notes. Also, solve sample papers to develop ones problem-solving and time-management skills. The prime purpose of mock tests is to help the candidate get an exam-like experience and fix last minute gaps. So, mock tests are tools to improve ones chances of getting a few extra marks and thus improving ones chances of admission.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests. So, the candidate can take mock tests conducted by coaching institutes or by online outlets to practice for the exam. Typically, the more mock tests a candidate takes, the better it is from an exam point of view. But note that mock tests are meant to be taken closer to the exam, to simply get into exam mode. So, in the early stages of one's exam preparation, one must make it a point to solve sample papers and previous years question papers.

Note that during COVID 19, the mock tests were used as a tool to help candidates get accustomed to the application and the process as the NIFT 2022 exam was held as a remote-based exam. Consequently, the mock tests were made mandatory, given candidates were appearing in the exam from their homes or a place of their picking. The mock tests will acquaint the candidates with the functionalities of the exam. In case the NIFT exam is conducted in remote-proctored mode (like during the COVID times), the mock tests will help test the hardware and software compliance required for the exam. The mock tests will give an idea about the types of questions asked in the actual exam. By taking sufficient mock tests, the candidate will be able to get quickly into exam mode, learn how to handle different situations, manage time-management, etc.

Note that no mock tests were held for NIFT 2023 exam. However, if in the future mocks are held, the candidate will have to go to NIFT admission portal and click on the mock test link. Then follow the following steps given below to take the NIFT 2024 mock tests:
Clicking on the mock test link will re-direct you to a log-in page
Enter your Roll number
On successful log-in, the mock test will appear on the screen
Go through the guidelines
Start the mock tests.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) didn't conduct any mock tests for NIFT 2023 exam. It may be noted that in the previous edition, mock tests were held to help the candidate get acquanited with the NFT 2022 exam format, which was held in a remote-proctored mode. So, it is unlikely that NIFT will conduct any mock tests for NIFT 2024 exam. Note that the NIFT 2024 exam will be conducted in a centre-based mode. The Creative Ability Test CAT will be held offline, while the General Ability Test GAT will be conducted in a computer-based mode.
