Yes, NIFT has the right to cancel any of the examination centres. Also, in such a scenario, the candidate will be allocated an alternate centre. Note that any change in NIFT 2024 exam centre will be notified on the NIFT admission portal - niftadmissions.in. The candidate will also be provided with a helpline number, where they can reach out in case of any doubts or issues. For your reference, here is a sample case:

The NIFT and NID DAT are different entrance exams. Also, while the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) released an official syllabus for the NIFT entrance exam, the National Institute of Design (NID) doesn’t release any official syllabus. So, the only option for the NID aspirant is to consult previous years’ papers and sample test papers to get an idea regarding the types of questions that may be asked in the NID DAT 2024 exam. And no, the NIFT 2024 syllabus cannot be relied on to prepare for the NID DAT exam. The candidate may refer to the NIFT syllabus only to further their knowledge.

Note that for NIFT 2023, the GAT written exam was re-conducted for some centres that faced technical issues. NIFT officials notified candidates about the affected centres on its official website. So, a re-exam for NIFT 2024 will only be conducted if candidates arent able to complete the GAT or CAT paper due to a technical or some other issue. In such a scenario, exam officials may decide the re-conduct the NIFT 2024 exam. Note that in the event of a re-exam, NIFT officials may issue fresh admit cards for affected candidates, along with the names of the alloted exam centres.
