The main difference in the certificates provided by CBSE and NIOS is that the former one provides them by school teaching method while the latter one gives them by distance mode of education. In CBSE, students have to attend school and the examinations are conducted in regular intervals for getting the pass certificate. In NIOS, students have to prepare from home and give the examination for the whole syllabus at mentioned dates. Coming to the value of these boards, both national boards are autonomous under the MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE AND DEVELOPMENT (MHRD) and the certificates provided by them are valid everywhere in INDIA and in certain institutions abroad. So, both the boards are equal and valid.

BCA Course: Eligibility
Candidates who wish to pursue BCA course must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria. Pass in 10+2 examination in any stream from a recognised board of education. English as a subject of study. A minimum aggregate score of 45% at 10+2 level. Some colleges prefer students from Science stream or those who have studied Mathematics and Computer Science at 10+2 level. Admission Process:
For admission to BCA course, a student must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria as mentioned above. Admission to regular BCA course is generally done through a common entrance test conducted by respective universities. IPU CET SET are a few entrance tests conducted by some top institutes for providing admission to the course. Application process for BCA entrance test usually starts in the month of May and June. Students have to apply to respective institutes in both online as well as offline modes. BCA entrance test is generally of objective type and contains questions from the topics mentioned below. The difficulty level is easy to moderate and questions in the test paper are of 10+2 level. The number of questions varies from 150-200 and the duration of the test is generally between 2- 2 hours.
