Yes, NIT Calicut does provide reservation benefits to the Keralites through state quota during admission. A certain percentage of seats are kept reserved for students from Kerala as per the rules and regulations of the state government. This reservation policy is basically for local representation in the institution. For details on reservations and admission procedures, it is suggested that one checks the official website of NIT Calicut or calls them directly.

Candidates have to score at least 75% (65 for the reserved categories) to be eligible for admission at NIT Calicut. There are different criterias for admission in different courses at NIT Calicut. For courses like BTech and B.Arch, candidates have to appear in the JEE main examination- Paper 1 and 2. For MSc programmes, candidates will be evalueted on the basis of JAM Score, followed by the centralized counselling process. For courses like PhD in various branches, NIT Calicut accepts entrance examinations like GATE/CSIR NET/UGC NET/ JEST/NBHM/KSCSTE and the Written Test conducted by the institute for admission.After the

NIT Calicut offers B.Tech in 10 different specialisations. Candidates have to score at least 75 percent aggregate in their class 12th Board Examinations. They can apply for admission in B.Tech at NIT Calicut through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main . Candidates with a good merit and decent score are selected for admission. The cutoff marks vary from one course to another. For BTech, the closing rank in 2022 ranges from 11,049 to 54,460. In addition, the NIT Calicut BArch cut-off 2022 for JoSAA Round 6 Seat Allotment was 491 and 378 – 569 for MTech. For more information about the course-wise cutoff ranks and trends,  click here.

No, NIT Calicut does not facilitate direct admission to any of the courses. Admission is entirely based on merit in the national-level exams, including JEE Main,  GATE,  IIT JAM,  CAT,  NIMCET,  UGC NET, etc. Candidates are further required to participate in other selection rounds, such as counselling, written exam, and interview as well, as per the applied course selection criteria.
