Candidates seeking admission to a BTech course at NIT Calicut must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Also, they must attain minimum of 75% aggregtae in their final exam of Class 12. The students whose results are pending can also apply for the course provisionally. Moreover, candidates must have academic certificates for verification purposes.

Admission to MBA at NIT Calicut courses are completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to this course must apply and appear for the CAT exam in the first place. After the CAT result declaration, candidates must apply for MBA on the official website of NIT Calicut. Further, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for GD and PI rounds for the final selection. After the completion of all the selection rounds, the final result will be declared on the official website of NIT Calicut.

NIT Calicut has 13 hostels on the campus, out of which 10 are for boys and 3 for girls. These include two mega hostels for boys and a 500-seat mega hostel for ladies. Messes operated by outsourcing are available in all hostels. Hostel administration is through the Chief Warden and the Council of Wardens, appointed by the Director. The Hostel and Mess Committee, with student members, manages the hostels and mess halls.

NIT Calicut covers an area of around 120 hectares. The campus is green, and the ambience is very enjoyable. It is a residential campus, with all amenities available on and around the campus. There are various facilities available for students and faculty on campus. The SILA Scholarship at NIT Calicut is offered to BTech students in the Department of Civil Engineering. The scholarship is given to those students who have scored the highest and the second the highest in their first, second, and third years of study. The scholarship will be offered to six students in total. The highest scorer will get an amount of INR 50,000, and the second-the highest student will get INR 20,000.

Yes, students at NIT Calicut can change their branch at the end of the first year exam if they score more than 8.5 GPA. Candidates who have successfully completed the first two semesters of the courses in the first attempt with CGPA of not less than 8.00 will be eligible for change of branch. I hope this helps!
