To get admission to the B.E. / B.Tech course at NIT - Narula Institute of Technology (NITD), your primary selection will be based on the JEE Main exam score. You need to qualify in JEE Main, as it's the key requirement for getting into NITs. Once you have your JEE Main score, the admission process moves forward with JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling, where seats are allotted based on your JEE rank, category, and availability of seats. To be eligible, you should have completed your 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as your core subjects, and you generally need at least 45-50% marks in these subjects.

To be eligible for admission to the B.Tech programme at NIT Narula Institute of Technology, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognised board with at least 75% marks (or equivalent) in the qualifying examination. Additionally, candidates are required to clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is mandatory for admission. A valid JEE Main score is essential to be considered for the B.Tech courses offered at the institute. The total number of seats for each branch may vary, but the overall admission is competitive, based on both academic merit and JEE Main performance.

You are ineligible for admission to NITs and IITs, JEE Mains and Advanced, and the West Bengal board if you failed Physics in your Higher Secondary (HS) test. The three subjects of physics, chemistry, and mathematics must be passed to be eligible for these tests and institutions. You have to pass your Physics exam, which you can do by retaking it or by taking extra tests. Following your successful completion of Physics, you can apply to NITs or IITs for engineering degrees by taking the JEE Mains and Advanced exams.

Not only do your board exam results matter, but also your JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores determine your eligibility for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. To be eligible, you must, however, have received at least a 75% (65% for SC/ST applicants) in your 12th board test, or rank in the top 20 percentile of your local board. Your WBCHSE score of 280 out of 500, or 56%, would not meet this requirement.
