To get into NIT Jalandhar for BTEch, you must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 75% marks (for the general category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, NIT Jalandhar considers scores from JEE Main for BTech admissions. Aim for a high score in JEE Main, as this is the primary factor influencing selection. Based on your JEE Main score, you'll be assigned a rank. After that, you need to participate in Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. During counselling, you'll fill out your preferred choices for colleges and BTech specializations based on your rank and seat availability.

NIT Jalandhar M.Tech admissions are entirely based on a valid GATE score. Candidates are selected as per their rank obtained in the entrance exam score and the final seat allotment is done through CCMT Counselling process. The first preference will be given to GATE rank holders. However,  if the seats remain vacant after admitting GATE qualified candidates, then the students will have to appear for a department-level entrance test to try their chance for admission.
