Hi,
It is of course new NIT at Puducherry. But, there is really lots of things special in new ones (NITs) and the things you may never get anywhere else. Small institution so the opportunities are extremely high when compared to any other old NITs. I have to mention that faculty is highly knowledgeable. The best known fact everyone is aware of, is that since the beginning of NIT Puducherry there has been 0% ragging which is completely opposite of any other Institute in India. No, it is not possible for you to get admission in NIT-Puducherry with that rank. I suggest you to go with other private institutes accepting JEE Score.

Pondicherry is a small city. You can book an Ola cab and directly reach to college without any issue. You can book local cabs also, but it may charge more money as you are new there.

According to my knowledge, NIT-Puducherry is the best option among the two. They provide better facilities and good infrastructure and placement is also good at NIT-Puducherry.

If you are from Andhra Pradesh then take admission in NIT Tadepalligudem and if you from Tamil Nadu, take admission in NIT Puducherry. Both are quite equal, you can take in any.
