NIT Raipur is better than Silchar. It is better in placements for core branches as well as for CSE and IT. The placements always depends upon the location you are in and that's the main problem that NIT Silchar is having. The minimum rank in JEE Mains to get CS in NIT is around 15000.

As as the JEE Main eligibility criteria for B. Tech admissions, The Candidate should have passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. So for NIT Raipur you have to choose Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Biology/ Chemistry.

The NIRF ranking of NIT Raipur for engineering is 63. While 15 is for SVNIT Surat. So SVNIT Surat is the best for pursuing B.Tech Electrical course.
