I think. You are not able to get core branches like CSE; ECE in nits. Your chances are low. You need to compromise branch and college. But we are able to get NIT under HS quota. Try to attend more rounds. All the best.

There are a lot of NATA training centers which make you prepare for NATA exams. Also, there are a lot of solved question banks for NATA and JEE Paper 2 exams, that would be helpful for you, more than this the sketching ability improvement would be a great addition for these exams. If you have confidence that you can get CS branch in any of the central government colleges then only I'll suggest you take a drop of 1-year, otherwise, not as you can also see what is the condition of the engineers in day to day life.

It is very hard, but if you score good marks in JEE Mains next year, you can get admission. You should score around 130 marks because if the paper easy then the cut-off will be around 120 or maybe more. If the paper is difficult, then, you can expect from 90 to 120 marks.

MAT score is only valid for the current you are giving. Hence, if you want to make your score secure for some time, then go for GMAT, as there you will have a chance to study abroad.

As per NIT Silchar placement cell officials, the average annual package offered to students is Rs. 4 LPA and the highest annual package is Rs. 9.5 LPA during the campus placement.
