NIRF is an approved by the MHRD and was launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th of September 2015. For 2023, cut off was 81476 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Civil Engineering at NIT Sikkim- National Institute of Technology Sikkim. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant. 

For 2023, cut off was 34083 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in NIT Sikkim. The cutoff for 2023 is higher compare to the previous two years. in 2021 it was 30095 and in 2022 it was 25908.

JEE Main exam dates for BTech programme for admission to NIT Sikkim is scheduled on Jan 24, which is tentative. As per the exam pattern of JEE Mains, the exam is conducted online as a Computer Based Test. JEE Main 2024 will have three papers, Paper 1 for admission to BE/BTech course, Paper 2A for BArch admission and Paper 2B for BPlan course admission. The duration of the JEE Main exam is three hours and has Multiple Choice (MCQ) and Integer Value (Numerical Value Answer) type questions. JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions while Paper 2A and 2B have 82 and 105 questions respectively.
