You should accept the Electrical branch in NIT Silchar rather than CSE in IIITS as NIT Silchar is way older and has more reputation than IIITs. You should study hard in the 1st year in NIT Silchar as 1st year is common in every department and if you will be able to score more than 9 CGPA then you can apply for branch transfer in CSE. NIT Silchar has a facility of branch transfer in 2nd year so you can go for CSE in 2nd year.

 According to the Engineering NIRF report 2024 released by NIT Silchar, the median package offered during BTech and MTech placements 2023 stood at INR 13.95 LPA and INR 6 LPA, respectively.
